DIRECTION 2009
This was held on Wednesday, 3 September, 2008 starting sharply at 7.30pm at the Central Coast Leagues Club in the Parkview Room.
The forum was attended and supported by 18 of the 22 clubs. Issues below were discussed and are being addressed at this time
10 Team competitions in WPL and AA1 - 2009 Season will have 10 team Premier League and 10 Team WAA1
The lack of willingness to enter WPL has to be over ridden by the obvious skills of lower grade teams.
Time allocation, and lower teams unable to back up-being looked at
Are all coaches accredited to coach women?
We need to aim towards that to assist in raising the quality of players who do want to aspire up
8 teams for all WAA grades, if possible
The Introduction of W35 comp under the following
There are 211 over 35 players on the central coast for the 2008 season
Proposal of teams of up to 20 players, same as men’s 35 with the extra ability of registering between 3 under-aged players 30 – 35 years.
W35 games time to be 30 minutes and to be played on a Sunday as all other Women’s Games.
We had 8-9 clubs immediately interested, aiming for entering teams next season
Referees and assistants for women’s senior games-being forwarded for comment to the referees association, but as discussed at the meeting there is a real need for more referees to cover all the games being played.
Girls Gala Day to be run at beginning of season, what age – waiting for ideas from clubs
W10 Competition was discussed in detail – this will be the third year we have tried to introduce this but we never get enough clubs on board to start the grade. The first question is should we introduce this grade or leave it and allow the younger girls to play in mixed teams which eventually does make stronger players our of them.
If we do introduce this should it be played on full-sized field or Grade 9 fields, do we play Saturday or Sunday.
